I met Susan and Alex on a Sunday afternoon at a little cafe in Brooklyn on 3rd Ave called Maglia Rosa. The weather was perfect and the staff at Maglia Rosa were super sweet - helping me with lighting and offering to change the music for us. Susan brought along this beautiful pink blouse that she wanted to get a couple of photos in..her Mom had worn the same blouse in her own engagement shoot many years earlier. After some Strawberry Pie and a cup of coffee we made our way down to the water where we finished off the engagement shoot at Bush Terminal Park. This was my first time shooting here and the views over the water were beautiful. I love when my couples show me a new side of this big crazy city. The sunset was stunning and it was the perfect way to end our little engagement session together.
Desiree and Ron are close Jersey City friends of ours and they wanted to do a quick engagement session for their save the dates for their destination wedding in Jamaica! We had about 15 mins of daylight left and quickly pumped out a couple of beautiful portraits look out towards the Manhattan Skyline - Hence the one location! They knew exactly what they wanted, brought along two really dope chairs to sit in and we were done in about 10 mins. Desiree is a professional dancer so I had to get the moving towards the end. Loved this shoot so much - Epic!!
I got to hang with these two lovebirds yesterday and look how much fun we had! The sun came out for us and it ended up being a perfect day in Jersey City despite what the weather report was telling us earlier. I love shooting in Liberty State Park as there are so many different backdrops - The beautiful greenery, the water, the NYC skyline. There’s always plenty of space and privacy for the couple that are a little shy and I love that you always find a free park. Whether my couple drive in or I do, having a car close by means you don’t have to drag all your belongings around with you during the shoot - I highly recommend being bag free on your engagement shoot as it gives you so much more freedom to focus all your attention on your loved one and less on finding somewhere to put your belongings down every 5 minutes.
Back in March we shot Kate and Max's small wedding ceremony at Barrow Mansion in Jersey City. They decided to throw the second half of their wedding celebrations in the warmer month of June and last Saturday was the perfect night for it!! Hiring out the gorgeous space of Low Fidelity in the Jersey City Heights neighborhood. The space was filled with beautiful flower arrangements by Karma Flowers and guests were treating to trays of focaccia pizza and delicious drinks!
These two beauties are celebrating 9 years together and we are super excited to be documenting their epic love story celebrations at their wedding this month in Upstate New York! I met the girls at their Hoboken apartment for their engagement session where we snapped some candid shots whilst talking all things wedding, life and love! I also got to meet their adorable rescue pup who just had to be included in their shoot! Afterwards we heading down to the water and walked through Pier A Park making our way to Hoboken Terminal. The Terminal is stunning for photos with loads of beautiful natural light streaming in and rich backdrops of timber and marble!
Maggie and Brittany wanted to do their engagement photos surrounded by color, water and greenery! I met them in the Upper West Side on a beautiful rooftop overlooking the Hudson River and Manhattan. They were so full of energy, smiles and laughter - You could really see the love just radiating from them! After our little rooftop session was finished off with a good dose of champagne we made our way down to Riverside Park. We walked along the waterfront dodging the city bikes and runners before finding a beautiful garden to finish off our shoot. As the sun went down the two of them ran around the park full of laughter and kisses. I loved every second of this gorgeous shoot!!Read More
I really really love Indian weddings and this collection of photos from Mary and Shay's Williamsburg wedding is a perfect example of why! Everything was visually exhilarating and rich, from the moment Shay saw Mary on the rooftop with views overlooking the Manhattan skyline to the beautiful colors and rituals of the ceremony. I really couldn't edit too much of this wedding in black and white because it didn't do them any justice...the color was just too amazing to fade out.
The night before their wedding Mary and Shay threw a pre-wedding Medhi party for all their friends and family at the Kings County Distillery in Williamsburg. There was a Henna artist available for all the guests and lots of delicious food and drinks. This was just a taste of the celebrations Saturday has install for everyone!Read More
Today we captured a little bit of Gavina and Ed's life pre wedding! They wanted to get some practice in front of the camera for their wedding photography in August and also wanted to capture a little bit of their life living in Williamsburg seeing as their wedding will be in Long Island. We had such a fun shoot, starting inside and working our way down to the Wiliamsburg waterfront. I especially loved their Brooklyn rooftop views!
Spring is finally here and nothing says that more than cherry blossoms! Tahsina and Saif wanted to do their engagement session surrounded by color and Branch Brook Park is one of the first parks in the Tri State Area to be in bloom. We spent about an hour walking around getting to know each other. By the end of the session they both were more comfortable having their photo taken and have some amazing images to display on their wedding day.
Bianca and Rae are getting married in Connecticut in May but before their big day there was a ladies only celebration to be had - The Bridal Shower!! Bianca's sisters organized the whole thing by themselves including the styling and the flowers. They chose to hold the Bridal Shower at CV Rich Mansion in White Plains New York. Bianca was on the verge of tears when she saw all the beautiful styling her sisters had done for her. "Can we just get married here right now - This is exactly how I pictured my dream wedding"
How cute is this Central Park engagement shoot! Central Park is a always a great location for engagement photos as there are so many different backdrops and it looks so different with the seasons year round. This time of the year the cherry blossoms are just starting to bloom and little bursts of color can be seen in every direction.
Tina and Mike are getting married in April 2019 at The Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn NY and I'm beyond excited to document their special day! Not only are they both super sweet but they were so relaxed and easy to take photos of. The reason i'm so adamant about my couples doing a shoot with me before the wedding is because a) It gives us the chance to get to know each other a little better so we're not strangers on the wedding day and b) It allows the couple to have a little practice run before the wedding and see how easy it really is!! My brides often tell me they are awkward in front of the camera and hate posing. Tina was a similar story and told me this was her first professional shoot but honestly you couldn't tell.. she handle it like a pro, was so relaxed and just had fun with it!
I first met with Bella at White Star on Brunswick St to discuss shooting their engagement photos. We got along so well I was so excited when she asked me to shoot her wedding too. On the day she only had me shoot for 2 hours but you can see it was more than enough to capture the intimate ceremony and some portraits afterwards. I did end up shooting a little longer than I was supposed to… I was having so much fun and Bella decided to get on the dance floor for me which resulted in the amazing last couple of photos which I absolutely adore.Read More
Michelle & David exchanged their nuptials surrounded by friends and family on a beautiful Spring day on the rooftop of the Berkeley Hotel in Asbury Park. Sunshine, fresh air and the smell of salt and sand in the air. It was a spectacular day for a wedding.Read More
It seems winter was the season for small intimate Jersey City weddings! Kate and Maxwell had a small ceremony (20 close friends and family) at the historic Barrow Mansion. The fabulous flowers are by local florist Karma Flowers. After the ceremony we headed downstairs to the old vintage bowling alley for a champagne toast and some bridal portraits. This was a two hour wedding capturing just the ceremony and some portraits afterwards. Kate and Maxwell are having a party at a Jersey City bar later on in the summer to celebrate with a larger group of their friends.
