Hi, I’m Averie, a 39-year-old Australian photographer and videographer based in Jersey City, and a proud boy mom. I specialize in capturing the magic of weddings in NYC, Brooklyn, Jersey, and beyond. Whether it’s a local celebration or a destination adventure, I’m there to document life’s greatest moments.
With over 11 years of full-time wedding photography experience and more than 500 weddings worldwide, I bring confidence and grace to every event, ensuring your special day is beautifully documented. Each wedding is a new adventure with unique backdrops and faces, and I cherish the friendships formed with my clients, often capturing their growing families and milestones long after the wedding day.
My background spans 15 years in fashion, advertising, film, fine art, and music, enriching my work with a wealth of knowledge and creativity. Born and raised in Sydney, I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photomedia from The University of New South Wales in 2011. My style, defined by a love of film photography and subtle use of natural light, infuses my work with a bold yet gentle, raw feeling. My work has been featured in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Brides, Over The Moon, Junebug Weddings, Rock n Roll Bride, The Daily Mail UK, Hello May, Nouba, Polka Dot Wedding, and more.
Beyond photography, I express my creativity through painting, dressmaking, and quilting. I have called Jersey City home since 2016.
Let’s create something beautiful together.
Best,
Averie

The Beginning..
I fell in love with wedding photography when I shot my close friend’s wedding at the beginning of my photography career. Initially, I was nervous, aware of the immense responsibility in capturing these precious moments for my friend and her family. When she first asked me to be her official wedding photographer, I turned down her offer, preferring to attend as a guest. A couple of months later, she reached out again, pleading with me because she couldn't imagine anyone else by her side for her entire wedding day. She wanted someone she felt comfortable with and trusted.
After much thought, I finally said yes, and so my journey into the world of wedding photography began. I’ll always remember that conversation with my friend and how it felt to document all those precious moments at her wedding. I wasn’t shooting with a formula in mind; I shot with my heart, capturing the emotions I felt throughout the day. It was a perfect blend of creativity and joy, and I had so much fun.
After that, I was hooked and wanted to be at weddings every weekend, documenting these beautiful and joyous milestones. To this day, I still shoot with emotion, letting it guide my creative process. You’ll often see me tearing up during speeches or parent dances. I put my heart and soul into documenting your wedding so that when you look back at your photos, you don’t just see beautiful moments—you feel them.
If you’re interested in working with me, it would be an honor to be part of your special day.
